Dominican Republic and the Haitian Relief Effort

Dr. Jeremy Stern recently shared his experiences over the last nine years performing orthopedic surgery and “Sports Medicine” on the impoverished citizens of the Dominican Republic with a lecture and slide show presentation. The lecture included a sample of the people he has had the privilege to help and those he has been fortunate to work with.  He explained to members about the evolution of the “mission” and some of the unintended benefits.  Dr. Stern also touched upon the 2010 earthquake in Haiti and their attempts to help.

The evening began with special Dominican rum cocktails held at the Sports and Activities Center.
