Local NEPGA Junior Golf League Team Advances to National Finals!

Wednesday, 4. September 2013 14:27

Three Bay Club Juniors on the team!Bay Club member Jason Gamache along with Jacob Yeomans and Collin Fitzpatrick from the Bay Club’s PGA Junior League team earned all-star spots on the South Coast All-Stars.  The South Shore all-star team won the Massachusetts title and the New England title to earn their trip to the Northeast Regional.  Their run continued as they won the 2013 Northeast Regional title at Race Brook Country Club in Orange, CT.  Teams from Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania competed in the Northeast Regional Championship, which was a round robin style event.  The NEPGA Junior League team was victorious in all three of their matches thus earning their spot in the National Championship on September 6 – 8, 2013 in Atlanta, GA.

The South Shore All-Star team will head to Atlanta representing the New England PGA. New England had 42 local teams participate in the Junior Golf League in 2013. The National Championship awards only six spots out of the close to 100 All-Star teams nationally and upwards of 750 local teams throughout North America. Quite the accomplishment!

The team, is made up of players from The Country Club of Halifax, The Bay Club, Acushnet River Valley Golf Club and Lebaron Hills Country Club and is captained by Bob Giusti, PGA, Greg Yeomans, PGA, Adam Hevey, PGA, Tom Rooney, PGA and Head Coach, Glenn Brown from Halifax.

L to R: Zach Berube, Acushnet River; Logan Berube, Acushnet River; Jacob Yeomans, Bay Club; Collin Fitzpatrick, Bay Club; Jason Gamache, Bay Club; Luke Myers, Lebaron Hills; Dillon Brown, Halifax; Kyle Sylvester, Halifax; Owen Fontaine, Halifax; Casey Grindle, Halifax

Bay Club PGA Junior League Golf

Monday, 29. July 2013 17:48

The Bay Club is pleased to participate in the 2013 PGA Junior League Golf League (PGA JLG).  The primary goal of the PGA JLG is to grow the game of golf in a FUN, yet competitive environment for kids 13 and under.  Each competition features four match-play matches.   All matches are 2-player scramble format, with each match divided into three 3-hole segments (called “Flags”).  Each flag is worth 1 point. Essentially, the PGA JLG is golf’s version of youth little league baseball.

Three of the team’s players were named to the All Star team and will represent the Cape Cod area in some regional competitions.

Youth Speed and Agility Camp

Monday, 12. September 2011 20:37

Youth at the Bay Club have been able to take advantage of a new Youth Speed and Agility Camp every Tuesday and Friday.   Under the direction of Fitness Director, Dave Maloney, this class is for boys and girls ranging in age from 11 to 17 years old.   Dave utilizes body weight exercises, an agility ladder, core exercises, and dynamic range of motion drills to better prepare the young athlete for any sport.  Smaller class sizes have allowed the students to receive one on one attention.
