Bay Club and Mattapoisett Casino Compete

Bay Club members recently participated in a Davis Cup style event with members  from the Mattapoisett Casino Tennis Club.  The group was divided into teams representing various countries.  After a wonderful morning of tennis, players enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Golf House restaurant. The day concluded with cocktails and a potluck dinner at the Casino club with players bringing dishes indicative of the cuisine of the country they represented.   It was a fun day had by all.

Assistant Golf Professional, John “Pi” Paesani Makes the Cut!

Congratulations to Assistant Golf Professional, John “Pi” Paesani who shot a 73- 69 totaling 2-over 142 at the NEPGA Senior Championship/PNC Qualifier held August 7 and 8 at the Woodstock Inn & Resort in Woodstock, VT.  His performance resulted in a 4th place tie and qualified him for 2013 Southworth Senior PGA Professional National Championship, October 10 – 13 at Creighton Farms, Aldie, VA.  This is the second year in a row Pi has qualified for the championship.

The 264-player field will be composed of senior PGA Professionals representing the 41 PGA Sections, and will compete for a total purse of $285,000 on both courses over the first two rounds of play.

Way to go Pi!

Bay Club Members Donate to The First Tee of Massachusetts

Members at the Bay Club recently began a drive to collect old golf balls to donate to The First Tee of Massachusetts.  In the first few days, two 55 gallon trash barrels full of golf balls have been collected.  The First Tee is an international youth development organization introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to young people.   The club is planning future campaigns that will include donating old clubs.
